West Virginia's men's basketball program has a clearer picture of what the 2026-27 season will look like, both on screen and in the stands. The Big 12 Conference and WVU Athletics jointly announced game times and broadcast details for the upcoming campaign, confirming that Mountaineer basketball will again have a heavy national footprint across multiple networks.
Broad Television Reach Across Major Networks
West Virginia games will be distributed across an unusually wide range of outlets next season, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, CBS, FOX, CBSSN, FS1, the TNT/truTV/HBO Max family of channels, ESPN+, Peacock/NBCSN and B1G+. That spread reflects the Big 12's broader media strategy, which continues to lean on multiple partners to maximize exposure for conference programs. For fans, it means access to Mountaineer basketball through a mix of traditional cable, broadcast and streaming platforms, though it also requires some navigation to track down specific matchups depending on the service.
Ticket Sales and Mini Packages Return
Single-game tickets for nonconference matchups and Big 12 mini packs go on sale to the general public starting Wednesday, Oct. 14. The popular Pick Your Own mini package format is back for another year, giving fans flexibility rather than locking them into a fixed slate.
- The 5-game package starts at $125 plus fees and lets fans choose one game from Virginia Tech or Cincinnati, two from Arizona, Iowa State or Houston, and two from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Arizona State, UCF or TCU.
- The 3-game package starts at $90 plus fees, with one selection from each of the same three tiers.
Tickets for all nonconference games, including the Virginia Tech matchup, also go on sale Oct. 14, with some single-game prices starting as low as $5 plus fees. WVU Athletics has flagged that it will use dynamic pricing throughout the season, meaning costs for individual games could shift as dates approach - a now-common practice across college athletics that rewards fans who plan ahead.
Family Days, an Exhibition Opener and Season Ticket Value
Two matchups have been designated Coca-Cola Family Days: the Nov. 6 game against Stetson and the Dec. 13 contest versus Coppin State. For those dates, fans can purchase a four-ticket family pack along with a $25 concessions voucher for $65, an option clearly aimed at drawing families and younger fans into Hope Coliseum.
Before the regular season tips off, West Virginia will play an exhibition against crosstown program Wheeling on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Hope Coliseum - a traditional tune-up that gives coaches an early look at rotations and new faces without the pressure of a counted result.
WVU Athletics is also pitching season tickets as the more economical route for committed fans, citing savings of more than 40% compared to buying single games individually at list price. For supporters wanting an early glimpse of the roster before any of this matters on the scoreboard, the program is hosting a free fan event, Ballin' at Woodburn, on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. - a low-stakes, high-interest introduction to the season ahead.
